THE BOOK A READER'S OPINION Perfect match! Really meant for each other! If you enjoy lovely contemporary romances then Can't Stop Loving You , nicely written by new-to-me author Miranda Liasson, will please you. Her charming characters makes this story of second chances complex but so believable. Filled with ups and downs, I could not put it down, and I needed to know what would happen next. Can't Stop Loving You is the story of Arabella and Roman, two young adults in their early thirties who fell in love when they were very young. However, because of a dramatic event, they went each their own way and didn't met again. Just before her 30th birthday, Bella is reunited again with Roman! What will she do? What will happen next? Can they really get a second chance after all that has happened in their pasts? Having been betrayed and hurt in the past, Roman needs to trust Bella again. If they want a solid relationship, they have to forgive each other and make a fresh start. They do share a beautiful chemistry as old feelings come back. This story is also about strong family ties. • CHRISTMAS IN MY HEART by Western Fiction Author Leslee Breene

Christmas in My Heart is the result of combining four award-winning short stories to share with family and friends. And hopefully, by word of mouth, many readers will want to add this collection as a “keepsake” of favorite Christmas stories to read again every year. The beautiful, inviting cover by graphic artist Lori Corsentino is one that I’m especially proud to place on my coffee table! In the collection, the heroines’ ages range from 11 to 27. Each heroine faces a challenge that will change her life. The settings take place in Minnesota, New Mexico, and Colorado. Here’s a sneak peek at the back cover summary of each story in Christmas in My Heart . Also included in the publication is a teaser from my last novel, Journey to Sand Castle . We have to get Nellie into the house!" With the gust of a stormy night whipping up her skirt, Mama stands over our sick cow. She pulls her heavy woolen shawl closer around her large belly. Papa strokes Nellie's head, a worrisome look spreading across his face above his full beard. "You want to bring her in the house, Sigrie?" "Her calf will be born before morning and it will freeze in this bitter night," says Mama. I shift from one foot to another, knowing Mama would never tell Papa what to do, but this is her job in our family. She is the budeie, the caretaker of cattle, and like the other women in our community, she takes it seriously. Papa nods in agreement and peers up at the thin layer of slough grass covering the pole shed. The roof started as a thick layer last fall, but our cows have slipped their long, rough tongues between the poles many times for a lick and sometimes come away with mouthfuls. "Selma, go put some salt in a pan and bring it here," Mama says. "And be quick about it!" My youngest brother Carl and I run to our small log house, his short legs almost catching up to mine. By the time I find the salt and put it in a pan, my oldest brother Jens has unloaded a stack of firewood near the stove. I order him to watch Carl and bolt outside into the whirling snow. Papa has a rope around Nellie's neck. Together, the three of us coax her across the yard by holding the salt pan under her nose. Once through the front door, we shove the poor cow into my room and tie her to the bed post. Nellie and my bed fill the small room. Papa can barely get the door shut. He has no interest in finding the man, but his love for his mother makes Daniel keep that promise. His search takes him all the way to Kentucky—the edge of the frontier—a land of incomparable beauty. Seeking a father with a different last name, he is now considered an illegitimate bastard and is scorned by everyone, even himself. Except for the people who matter the most—his true father Daniel "Bear" MacKay and Ann Byrd, a young woman who values her freedom and scorns society's expectations. Captivated by her beauty and fierce independence, Daniel seeks to court Ann, a colonel's daughter. But her father won't allow her near a man born out of wedlock. Amazon | iBooks | Barnes & Noble More Buying Options EXCERPT from Lady Claire Is All That This author has it on good authority that Miss Arabella Vaughn has done something utterly scandalous and completely unthinkable. —Fashionable Intelligence, The London Weekly London, 1824 Lord and Lady Chesham’s ballroom It was a truth universally acknowledged that Maximilian Frederick DeVere, Lord Fox, was God’s gift to the ladies of London. He was taller and brawnier than his peers and in possession of the sort of chiseled good looks—above and below the neck—that were more often found in works of classical art. By all accounts he was charming and universally liked by men and women alike, though for different reasons, of course. He won at two things, always: women and sport. Fox strolled through the ballroom as if he owned the place. He nodded at friends and acquaintances—Carlyle, with whom he occasionally fenced, Fitzwalter, who he had soundly thrashed at boxing last week, and Willoughby, who was always game for a curricle race. Fox flashed his famous grin as he heard the ladies’ usual comments when he strolled past. “I think he just smiled at me.” “I think I’m going to swoon.” “God, Arabella Vaughn is one lucky woman.” “Was,” someone corrected. “Didn’t you see the report in The London Weekly this morning?” Fox’s grin faltered. That was when Mr. Rupert Wright and Lord Mowbray found him. Their friendship stretched all the way back to their early days at Eton. “We heard the news, Fox,” Rupert said grimly, clapping a hand on his shoulder. “I daresay everyone has heard the news,” Fox replied dryly. It didn’t escape his notice that the guests nearby had fallen silent. It was the first time he’d appeared in public since the news broke in the paper this morning, though Arabella had so kindly left him a note the day prior. Everyone was watching him to see how he would react, what he would say, if he would cry. THE BOOK A READER'S OPINION Captivating! Janice Godin is a new author for me, and her novel, Then She Danced is nicely written. Since I'm Canadian, I decided to read her book because it's set in rural Newfoundland, a maritime province on the eastern side of Canada. Then She Danced tells the story of Kathleen, a half French-Mi'kmaq, an Aboriginal people who are among the original inhabitants of the Atlantic provinces of Canada. • A Reader's Opinion: INTO THE FIRESTORM by Kat Martin

THE BOOK A READER'S OPINION Kat Martin delivers another sizzling and action-packed ride! Luke Brodie isn't your typical Brodie. He's a little broodier than the others and hides an important part of himself behind a womanizing facade. Luke is one of those characters who makes a girl want to "rescue" him even as she's appreciating his ability to keep her self and make her feel loved. Emma Cassidy is tough yet feminine, smart yet vulnerable—everything Luke needs in a woman. When Emma takes a drastic life turn in order to stop the monster who hurt someone she loves, she lands in the middle of Luke's own hunt for Rudy Vance. Neither is willing to give up the chase, so the only option is to work together. Luke and Emma aren't willing to give up, and just when you think they're getting closer, another twist awaits. There is far too much swearing and sex for my tastes in this latest BOSS Inc. novel, but it also happened to be my favorite of the three because of Luke and Emma's on-page chemistry and non-stop action. However, even the content didn't stop me from staying awake into the wee hours of the morning just to finish this book in one sitting. The sleep deprivation was worth every word. Martin never fails to unshackle the reader's imagination and take them on a whirling roller-coaster of suspense and romance. She’s also popping up a step ahead of him every time he’s close to the capture he wants most . . . and there’s no room for learning on the trail of this monster. • A Reader's Opinion: THE RAKE'S IRISH LADY by Barbara Monajem

THE BOOK Scandalous Kisses, Book 2 A READER'S OPINION The Rake's Irish Lady is a story filled with beautiful passion, emotion, and history. This is an unusual tale set during the Georgian era of a half-Irish widow, Bridget O'Shaughnessy, who had a child out of wedlock, and Colin Warren, a rake who is not quite what he seems. In order to avoid marriage to a man who threatens to take the child away, Bridget seeks out the girl's true father, desperate to save her future. Bridget behaves more like a modern woman, but she's strong and interesting, while Colin is everything I find charming in a historical hero . . . mostly. He doesn't make things easy for Bridget and at times behaves rather badly, but redeems himself in the end. Martin is one of those "villains" who isn't likeable but earns some sympathy by the end of the book. Sylvie is a precocious child who I sometimes wanted to send to her room and other times found amusing. • A Reader's Opinion: BY CLEAR WATER by Neva Brown

THE BOOK A READER'S OPINION By Clear Water is an enjoyable western romance with a touch of inspiration. Leslyn Reed is a strong woman of the West who suffers unthinkable tragedy. On her own and determined not to give up, she sets out to find her family, only to be faced with more tragedy! Matt Yeats is a worthy man and hero for Leslyn, but neither of them have an easy path ahead of them. I really liked Leslyn's ability to overcome the horrors she has to face, and admire Matt for not giving up on a remarkable young woman. The writing felt stilted in some places and could have used a bit more polish in others, but the story moved along at a nice clip from the first page. I enjoyed the light and subtle inspirational elements mixed in because I think they added an extra layer to Leslyn's character. The black-as-night hair, catching a glint from the one dim light. The big brown eyes, innocently pleading. The big chest and lean, muscular forearms, so much more defined than when he was a boy. A man accustomed to labor. Who used his muscle as well as his brains. Yep, he was the whole big, irresistible package, and he was about to climb into her childhood bedroom. Part of her wanted to haul him in over that sill and rip his clothes off and beg him to make love to her, right there on the floor. But the other half wanted to push him out the window. Not really, but anything to wipe that cocky look off his face. He was a tiger in a kitten costume. She’d be a fool to play his game. “No, you may not come in,” Bella said. “Go away.” She crossed her arms. Mainly because she caught him looking at her boobs and realized she was wearing a pink camisole that was probably giving him quite a show. “That trellis is old. If I were you, I’d scuttle right back down it before you fall.” “I’m not going to—” All of a sudden he lost his grip. She lunged forward. “Roman! Oh my God, Roman, no!” She leaned out the window to find he was huddling a little below the window, chuckling. “I’m going to slam this window shut right now,” she said darkly. “And I don’t care which appendages I catch with it.” “Arabella. Wait.” Oh, the sound of her given name on those lips. She shivered a little, and not from the cool night air. He reached out, his fingers grasping her bare arm, and they felt so—good. The warmth of him traversed up and down her arm and spread like fire into her chest and below. Far below. Oh, her traitorous body, so reactive to him, even after all these years. She looked at him reluctantly. Her cheeks felt hot. Hell, all of her felt hot. “I’m sorry about earlier,” he said. “I was wrong to interfere with your date. I just want to talk with you. Will you let me in?” She drew back, away from his touch. “Fine. Even though both of us are going to get shot if my father wakes up and finds you here.” He threw his long leg over the sill and climbed over it. The light somehow made the chiseled lines of his jaw look more severe, more menacing. In her old room, his tall, lean body loomed large. Too large. “Wow, time warp,” he said, looking around at the pale-pink walls, the patchwork quilt, the white furniture. Various clothes on the floor. Makeup tubes and containers scattered over her vanity. “And such a great watchdog, too,” he said, glancing over at the dog, who was chasing squirrels in her sleep and snoring heavily. Roman walked over and stood in front of her, his gaze doing a slow sweep, starting at her bare feet, working his way up her bare legs and PJ shorts, her cami, up to her frowning face. She expected some remark—sarcastic or borderline innuendo, but he surprised her. “I was out of line in the bar. Contrary to what you may believe, I do care about you. I want us to be friends. And since we’re going to be living together in the same town, I think we should make an effort.” Friends. Right. She should feel relieved, but a wave of another feeling came over her. Disappointment? Oh, come on. What did she expect? That she was Rapunzel and he was rappelling in to save her from her life? Romeo coming after Juliet? She didn’t need saving. What had she been expecting him to say, anyway? Except it did seem anticlimactic, a declaration of friends after all that climbing. “Okay. I accept your apology.” His eyes wandered around the room. What was he looking for? Did he expect to find a Chad Michael Murray poster or two? Maroon 5 or Nickelback or Kelly Clarkson or Britney Spears CDs lying about? Photos of them from prom? The tiny diamond ring he’d given her on that last night that she’d worn on a chain around her neck for years after he’d gone? He smiled. A full, wide smile, and that was a knockout, too. Lord, did the man have no features that were unappealing to women? That smile was positively blinding. It sent her hormones spinning into overdrive. He had to leave. Now. “Well, thanks for coming, but . . .” “I want to show you something,” he blurted. “What?” He canted his head out the window. “Come with me.” “Down the trellis? No way.” He might be into risking his life, but to her it did not appeal. “I’ll go down the trellis. You go the normal way and meet me over at my place.” Common sense had her shaking her head. “Roman, no. I’m sorry, this is—” Lunacy. Against all sense. Going with him now would be dangerous for so many reasons, and really, her father was the least of those worries. She felt even now, after all these years, the intense, magnetic pull of him. The urge to run her hands over the hard planes of his back, touch the coarsely textured silk of his hair. Imagine the weight of him over her, the deep drive of his kisses, how he’d murmur in her ear and tell her how much he loved her, how he’d never love anyone else . . . She opened her mouth to say no. But he turned away and tossed his leg back over the sill. “I just want to show you something—something that’s important to me. Trust me.” Oh, right. They both knew how that had turned out. Once he’d left and she was certain he hadn’t broken his neck, she opened her top dresser drawer. Impulse had her reaching to the back and fingering the bottom of the drawer until she came up with a small black velvet box. In it was a ring with the tiniest of stones. Microscopic, really. Surrounded by a circle of diamond chips. A poor man’s gift. Or that of a very young man stuck in a very tenuous spot. Marry me, Bella, he’d said. I love you, I’ll always love you. We can make a life together. So much had been broken. Trust, family, their love for each other. Standing him up would tell him in no uncertain terms that that breech was irreparable. He was smart; he’d get the message. She would set boundaries once and for all. Yet she found herself tugging on a sweatshirt and rummaging around under her bed for flip-flops. Because, God help her, she couldn’t stay away. MEET THE AUTHOR Hi, I'm Miranda Liasson, author of contemporary romance. I won the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart Award in 2013 for a story that became my first published novel, THIS THING CALLED LOVE, which debuted from Montlake Romance as a Kindle First selection in 2015. Like most of my novels, it's lighthearted but also, like life, has a little bit of heartache in it, too. One of the best reviews I received about THIS LOVE OF MINE, my second Mirror Lake book, said, "This book is full of regret, sadness, loss, longing, friendship, family, love, laughter, and resolve. It would be a good book for anyone. A book that shows you your odds can always get better with friends, family, and loved ones in your corner." This is everything I aspire my books to be! I write romance because I love stories about the experience of being human, and love is the universal experience we all share. I also love stories that have happy endings and make me laugh. I hope my stories make you laugh a little, too. I live in Northeast Ohio with my husband, three children and my office mate Posey, a rescue cat with more attitude than my kids! I love to hear from readers! Find me on Facebook and Twitter @mirandaliasson and of course on my website at mirandaliasson.com . #NewReleasePost #ExcerptPost #GuestAuthor
