A READER'S OPINION What a charming and refreshing story! Pamela Ford’s Fresh Brewed , is the second fun adventure of three girlfriends, Allie, Megan and Breanna of The Continental Breakfast Club series. I had so much fun reading this 2nd installment! • A Splendid Boy by Melanie Martin - A Reader's Opinion

A Reader's Opinion It is the most touching story I have ever read! A Splendid Boy , written by talented storyteller, Melanie Martin, is a captivating and very touching story of two beautiful souls who became heroes at the Battle of the Somme during the First World War. Their love for each other was so powerful that it survived the horrors and atrocities of the war. I'm overwhelmed with emotions, and I even cried during certain passages. A Splendid Boy is a little gem to discover! In the summer of 1914, two young people—Daniel and Emma—fell in love. To save his family from financial problems, Daniel leaves Emma and enlists in the Newfoundland Regiment to be sent to England to battle in war. Discovering he is gone, she enlists in the Voluntary Aid Detachment in hope of finding him alive among the chaos of wartime. In 1916, they meet for a brief moment, never to see each other again! Can their love to be strong enough to give them a second chance, against all odds? As soon as I started to read this touching story, I immediately got pulled into Daniel and Emma's beautiful journey of hope! Ms. Martin's research is well detailed and well written. This author is a very descriptive writer. I really enjoyed this dramatic story! • A Reader's Opinion: LONE HEART PASS by Jodi Thomas

A READER'S OPINION This is the second book I've read by Thomas, and I have to say I enjoyed it even more than the first, and that had everything to do with the two main characters—Jubilee and Charley. I like wounded warriors and heartbroken heroines who are still strong and determined enough to change their lives around for the better. The addition of Lillie and Thatcher are great, and although I could have done without Lauren's point of view, Jubilee and Charley more than made up for it. Lone Heart Pass is a beautiful and tender story about hope, love, and second chances. The book is squeaky clean, and at the same time packs on the heat and passion in the form of soft touches and sweet kisses with everything else happening behind closed doors. I happily passed this book along to another reader and recommended it to family. With a career and a relationship in ruins, Jubilee Hamilton is left reeling from a fast fall to the bottom. The run-down Texas farm she's inherited is a far cry from the second chance she hoped for, but it and the abrasive foreman she's forced to hire are all she's got. Every time Charley Collins has let a woman get close, he's been burned. So Lone Heart ranch and the contrary woman who owns it are merely a means to an end, until Jubilee tempts him to take another risk—to stop resisting the attraction drawing them together despite all his hard-learned logic. Desperation is all young Thatcher Jones knows. And when he finds himself mixed up in a murder investigation, his only protection is the shelter of a man and woman who—just like him—need someone to trust. • A Reader's Opinion: Where the Horses Run by Kaki Warner

A READER'S OPINION The book blurb summarizes the story perfectly, so there's no need for that here. I will say that my lack of sleep one night can be entirely blamed on Kaki Warner. I picked up "Where the Horses Run" for my usual hour of reading before bed. It turns out that I couldn't stop at one hour. In true Kaki fashion, nothing in this story is sugar-coated. You smell the dust and sweat, feel the tears and heartache, and your heart pounds when you know two people should just stop being stupid and be together. There was a bit of talk about 19th-century contraceptives—something I've noticed in books lately—that I could have done without, but it was over quickly. I loved how much of the story centered around horses. I know the title pretty much says that, but it's done so well. I completely fell in love with the stallion, Pems, and wanted to take care of him as much as Rayford and Josephine. Josephine's father was quite unlikable as intended, and her son was adorable.  I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a nice twist to a western story, and especially those who enjoy horses with their romance books.
