A READER'S OPINION
Action packed adventure! The Lady of the Forest by Barbara Bettis is a medieval love story at its best! She's weaved a compelling story filled with great characters, suspense, and intrigue that you will keep your interest until the very last page. I love her style of writing because she is very a descriptive storyteller. It's no secret that I love medieval romance, therefore, her captivating story really pleased me. Katherine, the feisty heroine, and Henry, the powerful knight, will steal your heart. Ms. Bettis didn’t disappoint me! Their story takes place in Nottinghamshire, England 1197. While Henry is searching for a traitor named Paxton, he is suddenly attacked by a group of youths and taken prisoner. He just can't believe what's happening! He is mistakenly taken for the traitor that he's searching for. However, someone in the group will recognize him and set him free. Katherine is the lady of the forest, and she is a brave but a stubborn heroine willing to protect her people, but at any cost? Will she trust Henry enough to tell him her secret? As their journey progresses, her heart will be torn between her duty to protect her people and the man she loves! All together, they will embark on a long and perilous journey of twists and turns! Can Katherine and Henry's love survived against all odds? If you are in the mood for a fast-paced medieval adventure, then The Lady of the Forest will surely please you. I loved the beautiful chemistry between Katherine and Henry, and also loved the secondary characters, Sam'l, Oscar and Jamie. I highly recommend The Lady of the Forest because it is an excellent historical romance! A great tale to enjoy! You are in for a treat! Readers will love it!
