Ballads of the Roses Book 5

A World de Wolfe Pack Novella

A READER'S OPINION

Màiri Norris brings to life the medieval world.

This is the first book I've read by Màiri and I enjoyed her descriptive and lyrical way of writing. Elrik of Breda and Yrsa of Ottham are lost hearts and souls who come together by fate and circumstance. I confess the manner of speaking and some of the narrative were difficult to follow at first but the author pulled me in with the story and I soon found a nice rhythm. Elrik is an interesting hero worthy of the title but I did not think it at first. He surprised in me a good way. Yrsa is strong and willing to believe in the power of her visions. Elrik and Yrsa are worthy partners in life and love.

I appreciated the author's ability to convey deep romance and affection without graphic scenes, especially in a novella.

An unexpected act of courage and love, friendship, and tender romance all came together in Brábanter's Rose.
