Mathew Colton is a man born a bastard. His father is Lord Winthorp, a respected peer of the realm, and he has acknowledged him as his son. Mathew has a secret that if ever exposed, he's a dead man. A disgraced detective at Scotland Yard, he's trying to right a wrong and bring justice to his murdered partner.

Their meeting was explosive! Trying to shield her in a brawl at the tavern, the attraction was palpable, and just like the moth is drawn to light so were Jennie and Mathew to each other. The killer has a new victim and its Jennie. A cat and mouse game ensues with the killer. Can Jennie and Colton trust each other with their secrets? A madman is on the prowl and will strike again. Will Jennie be his next victim? Can Colton save the only woman who has captured his heart and made him want to be the hero that she believes him to be?

This book has it all! Murder, intrigue and a love story that sizzles, plus an ending that you would never believe! A little bit of Jack the Ripper and Sherlock Holmes makes for a gripping story that will have you holding your breath till the last page!
