A Reader's Opinion
Noah St. John, the Duke of Huntly, has not had an easy time in love. Believing he lost his beloved wife to the sea, he mourned for many years before deciding it was time to marry again and find a woman worthy to be the mother of his heirs. Of course he chose well, but he could not give her his heart, for that died with Rubina, or so he thought. Rubina's disappearance is a mystery and she feels she must keep the reasons for their many years apart a secret, but Noah won't accept that she doesn't still love him. The author is descriptive and creates enjoyable characters, but A Hidden Ruby does not show her true talents. This story left me feeling like there was more plot-driven miscommunication than passion, and more predictability than enjoyable surprise.
